Giving Back and Helping Others

Burn survivors and people with facial disfigurement who no longer fear the sun are sources of inspiration. Their stories of survival can support and encourage their peers. Their positive attitude towards life can inspire and move the public. That is why they are the best ambassadors for Sunshine Foundation.

Burn Survivor Volunteers

Sunshine Foundation set up a ¡§Caring Team¡¨ of burn survivor volunteers to visit peers who were recently injured and reach out to those who are still struggling to cope with their condition. By sharing their own experience and answering questions, the volunteers can lessen the fears of their peers towards the future; they can encourage and motivate them.

Sunshine Congress for Burn Survivors and People with Facial Disfigurement

Since 2005, Sunshine Foundation has been holding the ¡§Sunshine Congress for Burn Survivors and People with Facial Disfigurement¡¨ that brings together clients, old and new, their families and friends. Peer support, learning and inspiration are the three principles behind this event organized by and for burn survivors and people with facial disfigurement.
